The average body burns roughly around 10 calories per day per pound of body weight. If you weigh 180 pounds, your body will burn roughly around 1,800 calories to maintain its normal body functions. This does not include exercising going to the gym or out walking.
If you weigh 200 pounds, it would be roughly 2,000 calories to maintain that weight. So on, and so on. . . .
Let’s say, as an example, you weigh 180 pounds, and you want to get down to 130. Since the average body burns roughly 10 calories per day per pound of body weight, multiply 10 by 130 to get the amount of calories you should only be eating: 10 x 130 = 1,300. You will now be eating like a 130-pound person, instead of a 180 pounder.
Whatever weight you want to be at, simply add a zero on the end of it. Example: If you want to go for 150 pounds, take in no more than 1,500 calories.
